ART AMSTERDAM 7/12 may 2008This year's Art Amsterdam will cater to art collectors more than ever before, explains Anneke Oele, director of Art Amsterdam. At the central exhibition, called Het Collectiegebouw Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen will reveal its plans for a new depository for storing and displaying art belonging to private collectors and others. There will also be a special symposium during Art Amsterdam on the relationship between museums and private and corporate collections. Moreover, some 50 international art collectors are being invited to pay a special VIP visit to Art Amsterdam, and sixty young prospective art collectors aged between 17 and 22 can take part in the Day for Beginner Art Collectors. They will be advised by renowned collectors, who will accompany them for an entire day. This is how we're responding to the growing interest shown in collecting contemporary art.
